Today, and for the next four days, we’re challenging you to take our Holiday Marketing Challenge. We’ll help you take your business to the next level this holiday season by giving you new ways to engage customers, promote products and services, and get in the holiday spirit!
Shopping for presents is one of the best parts of the Christmas season. You carefully choose items with your friends and family in mind. But shopping can also be one of the most stressful things of the holiday season. Not knowing exactly what to get can leave customers feeling flustered. No one wants to be the lame gift giver. So we challenge you on the Eleventh Day to make a gift certificate display!
Customers have people on their lists who they may not know very well or who may be hard to shop for. Office parties, white elephant parties, and gift exchanges all are situations in which the gift giver doesn’t necessarily know the recipient intimately. Providing your customers with a gift certificate display will help them find an easy gift that still shows they care.
Since gift certificates are prepaid, the business benefits if they never are cashed in. Now, we’re not suggesting that you hope no one returns with your store’s gift certificate, but if that ends up being the case, you still make a profit.
Gift certificates also let the recipient pick their own present. This is good for the giver because it relieves the burden of knowing someone, who may be a mere acquaintance, enough to give them a thoughtful gift. It helps the business owner because the recipient must physically come to the store. There is no telling how many customers this could potentially bring in.
Customer A likes what they see in your store but doesn’t know exactly what to buy. They see you offer gift certificates and decide to purchase one for their friend, Customer B. Customer B comes in and makes a purchase. They will now tell their friends and family how they enjoyed your store and will hopefully generate return customers and new ones.
Setting up a gift certificate stand on your counter will increase the likelihood of customers returning after the first of the year. Many customers who receive gift cards don’t cash them in until after New Year’s. Bringing in customers during the slower months is crucial.
Best of luck to you on your holiday marketing challenge! Send us pictures of your display and show us how you rise to the #HolidayMarketingChallenge
